1.12 — Audite uersus parabole

NotazioneDatazionesec. X/XI
TipoAquitanian
NoteThe disposition of signs appears to indicate relative diastematy. The variation in the formation of single note signs follows the contour of the hand across the page: in the first line the almost vertical stroke on 'versum' follows the sharp descent from the previous virga, the following punctum rises diagonally continuing the movement of the hand, while after a descent the next single note sign falls diagonally. At the textual correction in the third line from 'solitude' to 'solitudine', neumes were added above the corrected text (the transcription indicates only the corrected version). The neumes are now the same ink colour as the text and were possibly added by the same hand.

MelodiaBeyond a similarity in the heighting of the neumes of the first six syllables of the second and fourth lines, no melodic or melodic-poetic patterning is recoverable.
